Clarity birdhouse stamps

My entry to the 'build a scene' challenge on the Clarity stamp blog.  The bird house stamps where a present from Santa, and this was my very first play!  I can see that I will be having great fun with these stamps.
The background was created with sponging across the edge of torn paper, then the silhouette birdhouse stamps stamped on the background card.  The coloured foreground was then created on translucent paper with alcohol inks.

Christmas cards 2013

The following are my batch Christmas cards for 2013.  I bought some wrapping paper which was double sided, with gingham one side and red/white Christmas trees on the other.  Having decided it was too nice for wrapping presents, I found the origami tree design in the Cardmaking and Papercraft magazine, and was inspired!  The following are a selection of the 15 cards I made, each one slightly different!

Poppies - watercolour effect

This card was my entry for our local horticultural show, and was awarded Second place.

The watercolour effect was achieved by spritzing a Clarity Stamp with water, then colouring in the stamp ,directly on the stamp surface, with 2 shades of red and 2 shades of green, spritz with water again before stamping on to watercolour paper.

You can usually get a couple of prints, and it's worth experimenting with how much water/colour you use, depending on the stamp being used.  Stamps with solid areas work best, have a play, it's a great way of getting different tones within your stamping!

The dragonfly is another Clarity stamp, stamped on to vellum, cut out and added to the card with the wings lifted.  I also submitted this one for the Clarity Stamp Challenge Blog - insects theme.

Alcohol inks - a friends 50th card

Cats can't craft - first blog

Hello, welcome to my first ever blog!  I have been inspired by the many craft and card blogs I have discovered over the last few months, and decided to have a go!  Encouraged further by my card making hero Barbara Gray of Clarity Stamps.

The reason for the name of my blog, and blogger name, is because of my 2 Siamese cats, who seem to think my stamping efforts, will be enhanced by feline intervention!

I'll add some photos of my cards when I workout how to do it!
